Adventure Nursing was a idea that came to me after I became frustrated with how poorly my fellow nurses and myself were being treated in the travel nurse industry. I decided I wanted to make a change. I didn’t like the fact that bill rates were so secretive. I did not like the fact that Nurses are bullied and lied to in order to get them to take contracts. I hated the fact that recruiters felt like they were gods over Nurses when in reality they work for us. I created adventure nursing to give Nurses an outlet where they could be treated fairly honestly and have complete transparency with the company. We will gladly tell the bill rates and we will show exactly how much money we’re taking. Unlike many companies that take as much as 50% of the bill rate we only take what is necessary for us to exist as a company and make a profit. Usually between 26 and 30%, is our average take. The percentage depends on our cost. I urge nurses to stand up against companies that treat them like crap do not allow it. It is fully acceptable for you to tell your recruiter, no thank you I no longer want to do business with you. If you like the company but not the recruiter simply tell them I want a different recruiter. We as nurses and especially travel nurses need to talk amongst ourselves, we need to share what we’re being paid and by who this is how we will affect a change in our industry for the better.
