I would think this depends on the states.. like snow birds flocking to the the southern states in the winter. I would also think a good time to start travel nursing is around the fall because there are tons of fall and winter needs. I would love to hear your experience and what you have concluded as a travel nurse!

To be comfortable with finding the contract that you want I think at a minimum a nurse and start looking about a month out are usually start Tryon six weeks out. I also think it's important to start keeping a record of the jobs that you see you're interested in and when they're open this will help you better align yourself with getting your top priority contracts. If you see a job in Dallas Texas with a start date of one July, then you know that job has a possibility of being open again in October.
